March 2016
What an excellent day of rugby yesterday with LaSette. We didn't really know what to expect only that they would be well trained and relentless. Which was certainly true in all the games. Varsity lost their game 38-17 and if it wasn't for some bad tackling decisions the game would've been much closer. JV had a come from behind win 34-17. Not to be outdone F/S also came from behind to win 32-14. A lot was learnt but most of all the coaching staff was impressed with the never give up attitude. Lets do it again this weekend. The week ahead- Mon 4-6pm Tues 4-6.30pm Weds 4-5.30pm Sat-3/26 we will meet in the Neuqua football parking lot at 6.30am to carpool to Elkhart We know it's the beginning of Springbreak so have only entered 2 teams. This trip is available to all players that are available and we will split you into either the varsity or JV teams for the day. We have also reserved space for the fish fry at 5.15pm for everyone including parents Please bring $10 for the meal -Coach Graeme Wildcat Rugby Attitude and Passion ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -All preseason scrimmages are for all players !! Outdoor practice begins this week Tues and Weds 3.30-5.30pm at RoseHill Farm park on Hamlet in the Ashbury/RoseHill subdivison. Next week we will start our regular practice schedule which is every Mon, Tues and Weds same times and place until further notice If there is any cancellation due to the weather I will send out an email before 3pm and also a text reminder will go out. So come prepared and dress in layers! Lastly we are looking for donations to help out with the cost of hosting teams during the season. Can all players whose last names begin with A-G bring 2 cases of 16.9oz water bottles and names H-Z bring one case of 16.9oz Gatorade to the Dosher residence at 4619 Clearwater Ln by Thursday, would be much appreciated. If no one is home please drop off by front door and leave your name on it. Feb 2016 What a great trip to Florida we had with 42 active players and a mix of parents.siblings and coaches . We played a total of 6 games winning them all with the most exciting being a come from behind win on Friday for our JV team. Trailing 17-5 with 10 mins to go the team rallied and won 20-17 scoring 3 tries in that period of time with the last one with no time left. Thanks to all of our players for being good ambassadors not only for our team but also our high school, families and community. On behalf of the coaching staff I'd also like to thank the parents for their tremendous support. Hank Mazurek for the Wildcat wear and finding a cool place for dinner on Fri night. Larry Danna for his help with planning the trip from the hotel to vans. Debbie and Gordon Aspin for organizing the superbowl fundraiser to help players fund the trip. I'm sure everyone will agree with me that this fantastic trip could not have been achieved without the energy, commitment and precise planning of Mike and Joylynn Berschauer. Thank you both from all of us. The week ahead-last two days of indoor training at Just For Kicks-Tues and Thurs 3-4.30pm. We have added a scrimmage with Fenwick on Sunday-2/28 at Elmhurst college 2.30-5.30 pm for all players. We will meet in the Neuqua football parking lot at 12.45pm to carpool. Outdoor practice will start next week at Rosehill Farm park on Hamlet in the Ashbury/Rosehill subdivision Tues-3/1 and Weds -3/2 3.30-5.30pm. |
